Low Back Biofeedback
With biofeedback, the RFD and sensors go home with the patient.
The biofeedback alerts are designed to remind the patient, through vibration or beeping, when they move in a way that could cause future problems. The clinician can customize settings for a desired range of motion and sustained movements based on a patient’s low back live assessment.
Before a subject can start a Biofeedback session a Live Assessment needs to have been done to measure their baseline range of movement.
Clicking on Biofeedback shows the list of movements down the left side of the software and blank area on the right.
Biofeedback has seven categories of alerts:
• End of range
• Pelvic tilt while standing
• Static standing
• Static sitting
• Slouched sitting
• Upright sitting
• General reminder
Clicking on an alert movement icon shows the parameters that can be set on the right side of the screen.
The various movements have different types of parameters that can be set. For example, providing Biofeedback for pelvic range while standing shows the subject’s pelvic range of motion (in red) and the limits set for providing Biofeedback (blue). To use settings from a previous Biofeedback session, click on the Reuse button.
Adding the alerts for the movement to the Biofeedback settings results in a green tick next to the movement icon and provides options for viewing Live Demo at the top of the screen. Live Demo helps you show the subject how the alert is triggered.
Click on start after setting alerts. The screen shows the summary of the session, duration and alerts set.
Click next and disconnect the RFD when it starts recording.
To offload the data, reconnect the RFD, navigate to the Subject Home Screen and click on Offload.
