Run Metrics Overview

Last Updated: Feb 10, 2020 11:09 AM UTC
Professional Suite Run captures a wide array of metrics during a patient’s run. Below is an overview of each metric captured by Professional Suite Run.

ASI – Absolute Symmetry Index
ASI measures the percentage of asymmetry between average GRF values of the left and right legs. ASI is typically calculated as follows:

ASI = 100 * ((LEFT GRF VALUE – RIGHT GRF VALUE) / (AVERAGE OF LEFT AND RIGHT GRF VALUES))

GRF – Ground Reaction Force
GRF measures the average vertical force applied to the ground during the mid-stance phase of the gait cycle and is measured in Newtons (N).

IPA – Initial Peak Acceleration
IPA measures the vertical acceleration and loading rate through the tibia when the foot strikes the ground at initial contact and is measured in G’s (acceleration due to gravity).

GCT – Ground Contact Time
GCT is the period of time that the subject’s foot is in contact with the ground between the initial contact and toe-off phases of the gait cycle.

Speed
Average speed of the subject throughout the repetition.

Cadence
Cadence refers to the average number of steps per minute performed throughout a repetition.
